Job Description
To perform routine ICP-OES and ICP-MS analyses, instrument maintenance, and data reporting. To provide leadership, direction, and training to the Chemists and Technicians. Handles samples, performs analyses and reports accurate and timely data according to Laboratory Operating Procedures and test methodologies.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Perform routine sample analysis for client samples
- Responsive to any quality related problem and immediate initiation of investigation, corrective actions and follow up.
- Maintains and verifies equipment.
- Maintains records of all quality activities as documented in Operating Procedures and test methods.
- Handles samples and performing analyses according to Operating Procedures and test methods.
- Reports deficiencies or malfunction to the supervisor.
- Identifies and records nonconformities on Corrective Action Requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related field or 4 years of commercial laboratory experience - Required
- 4+ years of relevant ICP bench/lab experience - Required
- Advanced Degree in Chemistry - Preferred
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Language Skills: English
- Mathematical Skills: Basic level of knowledge
- Reasoning Skills/Abilities: Basic level
- Computer Skills: Basic use of Microsoft Office 365 Suite required, experience with LIMS system
ADDITIONAL KSAS
- Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment.
EQUIPMENT
- Regularly operates laboratory equipment such as analytical balances, food homogenization equipment, pipetting tools, centrifuges, microwave digesters, ICP-OES, and ICP-MS instruments.
