Overview We are looking for a Principal Automation Engineer to join PM Group working for us on a hybrid working arrangement based out of our Birmingham office.

Responsibilities As a Principal Automation Engineer you will lead major projects with Key Clients; you will be responsible for the delivery of complex fast tracked Automation projects.
You will play a key role in all aspects of the automation on multiple projects either as a standalone solution and services development team or part of a PM Group multi-disciplined project delivery team.
This is not only a role to provide first class engineering and project delivery but requires significant client facing and vendor management.
Qualifications - Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline.
- Preferably a Chartered Engineer with IET, or working towards.
- Direct project and sector experience gained within some of our core sectors including: Pharmaceuticals, Bio-pharma, Food and Beverage, Biotechnology, Medical Technology, Energy from Waste etc.
- Demonstrated capability in automation engineering including; Control & Automation Philosophies, System Architectures, User Requirement Specifications, Functional Specifications, Hardware & Software Design Specifications, System Test Specifications, Installation and Operational Qualification Protocols and Application of ISA95/S88 methodology.
- Demonstrated experience in system integration projects with any of the following products or suppliers; PLCs (Siemens and Allen-Bradley), SCADA (Wonderware, Rockwell, Siemens), DCS (Honeywell, Siemens PCS 7, Emerson Delta V, Rockwell PlantPAx, ABB 800xA Industrial IT), MES Systems and ControlDraw design tool.
- Self-motivated and organised, taking a pro-active approach to tasks and commitments.
- Strong methodical and analytical approach with an ability to meet deadlines;
- Reliable, consistent and quality approach to work.
