A day in the life of an Associate R&D Specialist…
- Establish and build competence in product/process/technology systems development according to project briefs and stage gates in NPDI by applying functional knowledge, skills and experience to support product innovation and renovation teams from inception through industrialization
- Support teams in break-through products and ensuring food safety, regulatory compliance, (NHW, 60/40+), on time launch and within cost limits
- Interact proactively with the other functions within NPTC Dairy and RDSG to ensure the overall project objectives are met
- Ensure implementation KPIs are met
- Hands-on product development at the bench scale and Pilot Plant to deliver on Innovation & Renovation (I&R) business objectives.
- Provide product development support to project leaders and product developers on recipe (re)formulation, rapid prototyping, supplier relationships/interaction.
- Propose and deliver on-time technical and product development activities in projects.
- Propose new ideas / activities on food science and technology
- Build knowledge and contribute to business related project and product development activities with initiative.
- Present proposals / results in written and oral form to stakeholders, interested parties or visitors.
- Support scope changes through proactive and open communication within project team
- Anticipate issues and provide alternative solution(s)
- Integrate and apply knowledge for the interpretation of results and for problem solving in the frame of R&D projects.
- Ensure continuity of effort
- Demonstrate good collaboration within the project team and enhance the interaction and collaboration between the various specialists, within the PTC and across R&D Units, Technical and Business Units and with external partners
- Enhance communication quality within project team
- Use and supports Expert Networks
- Create synergies through effective networking with all relevant R&D Units, business partners, markets, SBUs, Head Office, external partners (Open Innovation)
- Build long term relationship with external partners (3rd parties)
- Quality of feedback from team members and stakeholders
- Manage Interface within project team and with stakeholders, interact with business partners
What will make you successful
- Degree level in chemistry, microbiology, food science and technology or related disciplines
- Basic knowledge of quality, safety and hygiene requirements
- Basic R&D or/and operating/factory experience
- First exposure in different project and support activities including systems used within the organization
- Has demonstrated the courage and ability to take decisions, solve problems and find solutions
- Good negotiating skills would be a plus
- Curious and motivated to learn
