About the role:
Our Endoscopy Research and Development team is seeking a Systems Engineer who is passionate about improving patient outcomes across our increasing and wide range of complex systems-based products. As part of the R&D team, you will be responsible for supporting the full product lifecycle of our electrosurgical devices as part of our high frequency (HF) capability team. Come grow your career us!
Key responsibilities:

Applies clinical and technical knowledge of electrosurgical devices (generators and single-use devices) and procedures to develop and sustain a wide range of products

Applies Electrical Engineering knowledge to design electrosurgical devices and solve complex problems

Ability to multi-task between both Sustaining (primary responsibility) and new product development projects

Applies electrosurgical and product development knowledge to define best practices for how we develop, test and sustain products

Applies project management principles to plan, track, execute and report status of projects within a range of team sizes

Proactively builds relationships and collaborates with cross-functional partners to ensure technical deliverables meet stakeholder needs

Identifies and builds relationships with external device manufacturers
-
Leads and executes activities to ensure the safety, quality, and compliance for the design of products while continuously improving their commercial value through end of life

Ensures products are compliant to electrical safety standards and other regulatory requirements

Designs, develops, debugs, modifies, and tests design solutions by using current tools, analysis techniques, and technologies

Partners with technical leaders to solve problems using theoretical analysis, experimentation, and problem-solving methodologies to make data-based design decisions

Designs engineering tests and experiments

Performs troubleshooting on products and manufacturing processes as related to design, material, or process

Summarizes, analyzes, and draws conclusions from test results

Prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to technical community

Documents product development activities by writing reports, memos and change requests
What we’re looking for in you:
-
5+ years in product development
-
Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field (computer, software, systems). Bachelors required.

Clinical and technical knowledge of electrosurgical devices and procedures
-
Proficient with electrical engineering and bioinstrumentation principles
-
Proficiency with lab equipment including power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum/signal/logic analyzers
-
Effective communications/presentation skills to all levels of the organization (both written and verbal)

Experience working within Design Controls or equivalent for Medical Device Industry
-
Electrical safety (IEC 60601-1), HF (IEC 60601-2-2) and EMI/EMC (60601-1-2) standards experience
-
Less than 10% travel
