The Associate Scientist is expected to support the design and execution of scientific studies for vaccine technical programs as they progress from early development into Phase I/II, Phase III, technology transfer and process performance qualification at the intended commercial site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develops and performs chromatographic, colorimetric/plate based, optical, and biophysical assays for characterization of vaccine products.
- Participates in the design and execution of specific development projects under limited direction, following the Quality by design framework.
- Works closely under the direction of scientific staff to, implement, and interpret the data from development projects.
- May train and oversee platform staff on equipment operation, data analysis, and other project-related work.
- Utilizes scientific knowledge and experience to influence technical decisions.
- Functions effectively as a core team member on multiple concurrent projects and may leads small projects and established work processes.
- Helps to solve complex problems through collaborations with others, taking a new perspective on existing solutions.
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Prepares and presents scientific data in internal meeting within own Technical R&D area
- Participates in writing technical protocols and reports in support of various project development stages.
- Utilizes technical process knowledge to meet regulatory requirements appropriate for stage of development.
- Communicates effectively with manager and senior scientific staff in order to ensure progression of project-related work
- Understand, apply and proactive promote to the GxP / EHS / QA rules application as they are defined
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field.
- HPLC and Multiangle Light Scattering (MALS) experience.
- Good level of spoken and written English as well as conversational.
- Innovative thinking is a plus, be able to identify link between different components of a problem or situation related to own work.
