Location: Rockville, MD from now to Q1/Q2 2025, then move to Cambridge, MA
As an Expert Scientist in the High Parametric Flow Cytometry & Cellular Immunology Team, you will be responsible for leading and performing pre-clinical immunological assays and immune monitoring activities on human clinical trial samples, ensuring business needs are supported and technology platforms advanced.
Key Responsibilities:
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities and to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following:
- Develop and utilize cellular immunology assays to support pre-clinical development
- Independently plan and execute complex high parametric flow cytometry experiment, and analyze data for pre-clinical studies and clinical trial samples
- Contribute to the development of new technological platforms such as spectral and imaging flow cytometry
- Manage clinical trial exploratory endpoints, including material transfer, reagent ordering, experiment planning and execution, and data analysis.
- Manage requests and usage of human biological samples across teams abiding to GSK and local regulations
- Interact effectively with colleagues from other Departments for technical and scientific matters to deliver on the Immunomonitoring Team overall goals that will support the selection of novel vaccine candidates & platform technology development
- Independently write specific technical sections of internal and external reports and scientific papers. Prepare detailed oral or written summaries of results with interpretation for projects/programs. Present and discuss results at internal and external meetings
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- PhD degree in immunology or related field with at least 4 years of experience in a related biotechnology field OR a master’s degree with at least 8 years of experience in hands-on experience of complex flow cytometry assays development field OR Bachelor’s with at least 10 years of hands-on experience of complex flow cytometry assays development
- Two or more years of experience with immunological assays, e.g. characterization of T-cell and B-cells subsets, intracellular cytokine staining, innate immune cells
- Two or more years of experience in designing and executing flow cytometry experiments with conventional and spectral flow cytometry analyzers and sorters
- Two or more years of experience with human cells/tissues preparation and culture in aseptic conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Very good understanding and application of Flow data analysis
- Prior experience in working in a GLP/GCLP environment
- Advanced Data science skills for large integrated data analysis
- Problem solving, proactive and solution oriented
- Uncertainty, changes in priority and timeline pressure management
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Flow cytometry applied to clinical samples project management experience
- Demonstrated capability to maintain and troubleshoot flow cytometry instruments
- Leadership/People management experience
