Are you looking for a market research leadership role that will help to shape our commercial strategy and accelerate customer engagement? If so this Director, Competitive Intelligence and Market Research role could be an exciting opportunity to explore.
The Director, Market Research & Competitive Intelligence will be responsible for developing a comprehensive market research plan and supervising execution of market research projects for the expanding ViiV portfolio to develop detailed understanding of markets and product performance. The market research spans the full product life cycle from pre-launch through maturity. This functional leader will also be charged with integrating primary market research results with competitive intelligence and other analyses, studies, and information to derive key insights that inform commercial strategies. This role is mission-critical to the organization. The successful candidate will have deep experience in both consumer and HCP qualitative and quantitative research, translating information into actionable insights that can be understood and utilized by the entire organization. In this role you'll provide leadership for a team of highly-skilled marketing researchers
This role will be based out of ViiV's US Headquarters in Durham, NC (Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Raleigh and Cary Area) & is eligible for a domestic relocation package.
This role will provide/gives YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
- Effectively manage a high caliber market research team of 3-5
- Define market research priorities in collaboration with US brand teams and global partners teams to proactively address key business questions to develop short and mid-term plans for market research with associated budgets
- Lead the creation of deep and insightful quantitative and qualitative research relating to healthcare consumers and HCPs
- Coach team in vendor and project management to identify appropriate research methodology, ensure project alignment to business objectives and guide execution and reporting
- Examine research findings to understand data, key market insights and implications
- Be a role model for coach for the team in report design, presentation delivery and managing discussions with a variety of internal stakeholders who may span various levels of leadership
- Lead ad hoc strategy projects and initiatives
- Work with group leadership to improve the processes and practices of the ViiV Insights and Analytics (I&A) practices
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
- Bachelor’s degree & 8+ years’ experience in analytics or market research within healthcare sector
- Experience leading projects cross-functionally and managing technical teams (2+ direct reports)
- Experience managing multiple priorities with a commitment to delivering on-time
- Experience representing the Insights & Analytics' function on cross-functional teams and leveraging market research to influence decisions with/ without authority
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Pharmaceutical experience
- Master’s and/or MBA
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to lead and resolve conflict.
- Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment through planning prioritizing, and effective execution.
- Strong commitment to quality.
