Overview The EHS Site Safety Lead position is an exciting opportunity to join one of PM Group’s global life sciences clients in North Jersey. This is a high-profile need and the position is responsible for oversight of multiple large and small capital projects running consecutively at the site. The need requires previous direct personnel management experience, the ability to interact with and align the construction leadership team as well as oversee the site construction safety leads.

Responsibilities - Implement and administer Safety Programs at project location. Work with the CM, client team members and field personnel to coach, counsel and mentor on safety program elements and hazard identification.
- Coordinate site safety activities with client project managers
- Lead JSA/SPA program on each of the projects at the site, & review permitting processes on projects
- Liaison to the Global Safety Department
- Monitor and participate in weekly Site Safety meetings for each project
- Timely reporting and timely incident investigation resolution. Ensure that all corrective actions are closed out by target dates.
- Review injury/incident reports for completeness
- Ensure applicable company and regulatory SHE requirements are being met
- Oversee safety incentive program for each project
- Weekly documented job site safety inspections
- Participate in safety reviews at pre-bid and pre-award meetings
- Review Logistics plans for each project for completeness and safety
- Work with the contractor management and supervisors to raise their safety awareness and hazard recognition.
- Participate and collaborate in developing Project Execution plans and SHE plans for new projects.
- Participate and maintain positive and effective Union Leadership relations
- Reporting of Leading/Lagging indicators as well as KPIs for site projects
- Ensure contractors adhere OSHA standards
- Support and participate in onboarding processes including site orientation, training, pre/post bid alignment and safety culture
- Oversee high-risk work and cut sheet programs
- Coordinate weekly site project safety walks and monitor CAPA closures
- Onboarding of new CMs and Safety Personnel
- Oversight Day to Day Safety
- Incident Investigations
- Contractor Evaluation Reviews
- Build an inclusive work environment
Qualifications - 10 Years of Construction Safety Management Experience preferred
- 4-year Degree or demonstrated work experience
- Experience in Pharma industry preferred, but not required
- Experience or familiarity with Qualification and Commissioning recommended
- Ability to promote and maintain a positive safety culture.
- Ability to manage and lead a team of safety professionals at varying levels in their careers
- Understanding of OSHA, State and Local construction safety regulations
- Safety Program/Project leadership experience
- OSHA 510 required; OSHA 500 strongly recommended
- Excellent communication and presentation skills at all levels from upper leadership to field level
- Experience coaching and counseling and mentoring on safety and hazard recognition
- Ability to present owners safety expectations at pre-bid and bid meetings.
- Proven history of developing and maintaining positive relations with owner’s site leadership, site safety organization, project management, construction management companies, workforce and labor leadership
- Computer proficiency i.e.) Microsoft Office
- Data analysis
- Root Cause and CAPA development and mitigation
- Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis Skills
- Proven organizational skills
- Ability to manage change safely
