The Opportunity
Our Princeton, NJ location has an opportunity for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer in the Instrument Operations Software technical group within Abbott Point of Care (APOC).
In this role, the Software Quality Assurance Engineer will perform software and hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities to ensure that software and processes are appropriately developed, implemented, and are in compliance with all applicable internal requirements and external regulations.
What You’ll Work On
Perform software testing activities for Manufacturing Software Engineering team.
Develop software validation strategies.
Write and execute software validation protocols.
Assist in troubleshooting production floor issues, such as software defects and hardware malfunctions.
Provide recommendations for software/process improvements.
Perform software and hardware configuration activities according to provided specifications.
Assist in software deployments.
Work with cross-functional teams through all stages of software development process.
Maintain breadth of knowledge about manufacturing hardware and software systems.
Adhere to company policies/procedures and regulations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in applicable STEM field.
3+ years of work experience in software testing.
Experience in appropriate business disciplines (such as quality, operations, engineering) with organizations engaged in the manufacture of FDA regulated products.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with the manufacture or design of electro/mechanical products.
Operational experience in a medical device manufacturing environment.
Familiar with a variety of software testing concepts, practices, and procedures.
MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word) skills.
