Job Overview
We are seeking an innovative Product Manager to lead the development and implementation of IoT solutions for global laboratory-based drug discovery and process development. This role requires deep expertise in biopharmaceutical R&D workflows, laboratory equipment integration, and digital transformation strategies, aiming to bridge technical platforms with scientists/engineers' needs. The candidate will ensure efficient connectivity across global manufacturing sites and R&D centers, enabling data-driven decision-making and operational optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Analysis & Product Strategy
- Collaborate with R&D, production, and QC teams to identify workflow pain points (e.g., cell culture monitoring, purification process optimization, compliance), design IoT solutions for real-time equipment monitoring (bioreactors, chromatography systems, environmental sensors) and predictive maintenance.
- Develop product roadmaps aligned with industry trends (Industry 4.0, edge computing), ensuring compliance with biopharmaceutical data security and integrity standards.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Partner with software engineers and data scientists to build scalable IoT platforms, integrating LIMS/MES systems for end-to-end data flow.
- Coordinate global teams (US, Ireland, Germany) to align solutions with regional regulations (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11) and operational standards.
Project Management & Delivery
- Lead pilot projects in key laboratories (Shanghai, Wuxi), validate prototypes, and drive global deployment.
- Define KPIs for system performance (equipment uptime, data accuracy, process optimization rate).
User Training & Continuous Improvement
- Develop training programs for laboratory technicians on IoT tools and data interpretation.
- Iterate solutions based on feedback from antibody screening, protein production, and other critical scenarios.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s/Master’s in Biotechnology, Computer Science, IoT Engineering, or related fields. 5+ years of product management experience in biopharmaceutical laboratories or IoT platforms.
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment (e.g., Sartorius bioreactors, AKTA chromatography systems) and regulations (FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
Technical Competencies
- Proficient in IoT architecture (edge computing, AWS/Azure cloud platforms), data analysis tools (Python/SQL), and industrial protocols (OPC UA/Modbus).
- Experience in AI/ML applications for predictive maintenance or process optimization is preferred.
Soft Skills
- Exceptional cross-functional communication skills (scientists to executives), fluency in Chinese and English.
- Agile mindset to thrive in fast-paced CRDMO (Contract Research, Development and Manufacturing Organization) environments.
