Job Summary
As an R&D Scientist in Imaging & Dosimetry at Quirem (a Terumo company), you will play a vital role in advancing medical technology through cutting-edge research and development. Reporting to the Manager of Imaging & Software Development TIO (Terumo Interventional Oncology), you will contribute to both foundational and applied R&D projects, enhancing Quirem products and their clinical applications.
Job Responsibilities
In this dynamic and impactful role, you will:
- Lead R&D Initiatives: Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to drive advancements in medical image processing and dosimetry techniques for Quirem products.
- Document and Present Findings: Meticulously document research activities and outcomes, sharing insights with internal teams and external research partners.
- Develop Technical Documentation: Contribute to the creation and refinement of technical documentation for Quirem’s medical device software.
- Prototype Software Features: Design and test new software functionalities in collaboration with clinical partners, ensuring alignment with real-world applications.
- Optimize Medical Imaging: Investigate enhancements to medical image acquisition and reconstruction processes in partnership with industry and clinical stakeholders.
- Support Clinical Research: Assist in clinical research efforts focused on image processing and dosimetry techniques.
- Report Progress: Provide regular updates on R&D project milestones, fostering clear communication and alignment with team objectives.
- Ensure Quality: Participate in verification testing of Quirem software to meet quality and regulatory standards.
Profile Description
Educational Background: Master’s degree in Biomedical/Biophysical Engineering, Physics, Information Technology, or a related field.
Technical Expertise: Experience in medical image acquisition and processing techniques, along with proficiency in Python, DICOM, ITK, and VTK. Knowledge of dosimetry for medical purposes is a plus.
Analytical Problem-Solving: A highly analytical mindset with a passion for innovation and curiosity about medical devices.
Creative Vision: Ability to translate new techniques into practical clinical applications with a creative, forward-thinking approach.
Communication Skills: Proficiency in English, with strong technical writing and verbal communication abilities.
Team Collaboration: Demonstrated experience working effectively within an R&D team and engaging with internal and external partners.
Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with strong task prioritization, time management, and self-motivation.
Quality & Regulatory Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with quality and regulatory frameworks for medical devices is advantageous.
