The Role
As we continue to grow as QuidelOrtho, we are seeking a Data Quality Analyst, who will be responsible for the monitoring data quality, conducting root cause analysis, and defining data remediation solutions for all data sources and regions (i.e., CRM, ERP). This role involves presenting remediation recommendations, coordinating with system owners to cleanse data, and implementing systematic changes to prevent future issues. The Data Quality Analyst will report on data quality metrics and ensure compliance with data quality standards across regions. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, critical thinking skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
This will be a hybrid opportunity for our San Diego, Ca office. May be remote eligible.
The Responsibilities
- Regularly review source system reject/warning reports.
- Conduct root cause analysis and, with guidance from the Global Manager, Customer Master Data Management Governance, define data remediation solutions.
- Report on data quality (DQ) metrics.

- Report on data quality metrics.
- Propose new data quality rules and process improvements.
- Present Data Quality remediation to Data Governance Working Group and obtain consensus.
- Coordinate with the source system owners to cleanse data at source and/or implement systematic changes to prevent the occurrence of issues.
- Proactively communicate risks and with the help of the Global Manager, Customer Master Data Management Governance, identify remediation plan and execute.
- Participate in issue triage and own resolution of issues pertaining to data quality.
- Own Data Quality training material and revise as needed
- Work with the regional colleagues to ensure compliance with data quality standards.
- Write and execute UAT scripts.
The Individual
Required:
- Bachelors degree in related field: Marketing, Business, Data Science or Analytics or significant professional experience in the relevant field will be considered.
- At least 3-5 years of experience as a Data Quality Analyst
- Experience with Master Data Management discipline
- Critical thinker who thrives on solving problems.
- Advance Excel and SQL skills
- Good presentation skills.
- Organized, attention to details, good documentation, able to multitask and complete activities with minimal supervision within deadlines.
- Flexible, able to adjust to change.
- Team player, able to collaborate with global cross functional teams.
- Ability to travel up to 5-10% domestically.
- This position is currently not eligible for visa sponsorship.

- Multilingual
- Familiar with project management principles.

The Work Environment
No strenuous physical activity, though occasional light lifting of files and related materials is required. 30% of time in meetings, working with team, or talking on the phone, 70% of the time at the desk on computer, doing analytical work. Minimal travel required. Travel includes airplane, automobile travel and overnight hotel.
Physical Demands
Up to 75% at desk, on manufacturing floor, walking, standing, and sitting for long periods of time are routine to accomplish tasks in this role; 25% of time in meetings or on the phone. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to enter in and out of cold room and lifting up to 30 pounds. Position requires use of Personal Protective Equipment as posted.
Salary Transparency
The salary range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, geography, and abilities of the candidate, in addition to internal equity and alignment with market data. At QuidelOrtho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary for this position is $70,000-$80,000. QuidelOrtho offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, employee assistance program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off (including sick time), and paid Holidays.
