Job Summary
The Forklift Operator will be responsible for the safe operation of electric pallet jacks to move materials throughout the facility. This role requires the ability to operate powered industrial equipment while maintaining strict adherence to all applicable safety rules and guidelines. The Forklift Operator must also be able to effectively navigate through tight spaces and around other pieces of moving equipment.
Responsibilities
Safely operates electric pallet jacks per department standards; moves required quantities of product/materials within the facility and off-site locations as needed
Follows established workflows in accordance with procedures and departmental requirements
Maintains compliance with all regulatory and safety protocols including but not limited to SOPs, LOTO, lock out/tag out, and hazardous waste handling/storage
Accurately documents material movement and quantity information
Participates in maintaining a safe work environment by being aware of surroundings and communicating any potential hazards or injuries to management
Performs daily inspections on assigned vehicle and reports any issues to maintenance
Adheres to proper lifting techniques and ergonomic standards
Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Prior experience operating electric pallet jacks or similar equipment preferred
Ability to read/understand written instructions, labels, and procedure manuals
Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy
Demonstrated teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent communication skills and strong commitment to safety and quality
Computer literacy (SAP & Microsoft Office)
Problem solving skills
Adaptable to changes in responsibility and schedule
Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand, sit, and walk continuously over extended periods of time
Comfortability working in a cleanroom environment
