The Bulk & Onsite Maintenance Engineer is a vital member of Air Liquide UK’s Bulk & Onsite Engineering, Installation and Maintenance [BOS EIM] Team. They are responsible for the safe maintenance and commissioning of our customer based installations, and providing maintenance support across the UK business.
The maintenance team works on the maintenance and commissioning of geographically spread:
- Cryogenic generators (oxygen/nitrogen)
- Cryogenic storage tanks (and associated equipment)
- Pressurised hydrogen storage facilities (and associated equipment)
- Telemetry and instrumentation to support optimised bulk deliveries
This person reports to the BOS Maintenance Manager, and the role is supported by (and supports) a wider network of engineering professionals across the Air Liquide group.
- Developing maintenance strategy and schedule.
- Issuing and reviewing technical documentation as Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) and Method Statements.
- Working towards increased maintenance quality and compliance to internal specifications and procedures.
- Reporting KPIs and taking actions to ensure high quality level.
- Working with engineering to provide technical support for internal and external customers.
- Managing complex maintenance projects on Customer Installations.
- Supporting procurement on spare parts identification and specification.
- Managing spare parts for installations.
- Being the focal point for external contractors providing maintenance support activities.

Are you a MATCH?
- Degree/Qualification in Engineering and/or relevant work experience
- Knowledge of Pressure Equipment Systems.
- Knowledge of Gas application and Cryogenics processes.
- Ability to work with, and create, engineering standards and procedures.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and commercial colleagues.
- Experience of working within applicable UK legislation such as PSSR, LOLER, HSWA.
- Experience in the industrial gases industry; working with high pressure systems.
- Experience of high hazard chemicals or products (e.g. Hydrogen, propane, oxygen), including COMAH operations.
- Ability to manage multiple demands and priorities.
- Able to build working relationships with all employees and stakeholders.
- Demonstrates personal involvement in coaching and guiding others, seeking time to invest in others and own development.
- Builds trust and respect by ensuring commitments made are delivered.
