Description Overview
Project manager and technical lead on capital projects including but not limited to infrastructure, manufacturing, and packaging equipment within a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. Accountable for managing small to large capital investment projects, providing leadership during concept/design stage and execution at highest level of efficiency, quality, and employee safety. The position requires employee to be onsite 95% and 5% work from home. This position reports to the Project Engineering Manager.
Scope of the Role
- Responsible for the development, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of single and two-year capital projects up to $1MM each, which may be adjusted or reallocated as needed, based on business requirements.
- Uses the necessary industry and company methodology and tools including but not limited to:
- Planning & Design phase – i.e., Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis, User Requirement Specifications, Request for Proposal, Project Scope, Budget, Milestones, Vertical Start-Up development; Vendor/supplier management.
- Execution & Implementation phase – i.e., Factory Acceptance Test, Site Acceptance Test, Commissioning Qualification and Verification, Decommissioning, Start-up
- Monitoring & Closure – After Action Review, successful handover to site engineers and owning department, change control and financial asset project closure.
- Ensures quality & safety compliance within a cGMP pharmaceutical manufacturing facility during all phases of the project.
- Leads cross-functional team consisting of internal teams, vendors/suppliers, contractors, and consultants while fostering collaborative environment to ensure successful for project planning and execution.
- Controls cost, monthly cash flow phasing, and execution schedule of projects to ensure the projects are on time and on budget.
- Supports purchasing, receiving, and invoicing tasks for one’s projects.
- Proactively monitors progress and issues progress reports; resolves issues and initiates appropriate corrective action to ensure critical milestones are met.
- Coordinates clear communications to all key stakeholders, reporting and oversight of interdependencies and risks, to ensure the realization of the projected benefits.
- Ensures project documentation is organized and accessible.
Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering or Engineering Management preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years of work experience within a cGMP environment or manufacturing facility required.
- MS Office proficiency required.
- AutoCAD proficiency preferred.
- Willing and capable of adjusting work schedule when necessary to accommodate execution of projects and contractor support. May require weekend work due to weekday production schedule.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent interpersonal skills, including good oral and written communication with all levels of the organization.
- Flexible, agile, and can perform well in fast-paced environment.
Annual Salary Range: $90,000 to $110,000
