Job Description
Searching for a Microbiologist who has previous experience with water testing to be responsible for all aspects of the Microbiological testing conducted in the Notting Hill Water Laboratory. This includes performing routine and non routine analyses, trouble shooting, method validation/development and staff training to deliver quality and timely laboratory results.
Working closely with Microbiology Supervisor and Water Lab Operations Manager, you are required to ensure the requirements of ISO17025 and SGS OH&S systems are met, and to lead the technical and process improvement projects. As a senior member of the team, you are also required to ensure the team is work together effectively and efficiently.
Other key responsibilities in this role will include but are not limited to:
- Monitor and report on the progress of work performed. Ensure the quality of data produced meets the standards of SGS quality policy.
- Act as a NATA signatory
- Prepare reports, and provide support to Microbiology Supervisor
- Carry out project work, technical trouble shooting as directed by the lab management.
- Conduct method validations for ISO17025 accreditation.
- Communicate effectively with clients to ensure a high degree of customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Microbiology.
- Theoretical and Practical Understanding of microbiological principles.
- Previous experience in water testing (E.coli, Coliform and HPC testing). Food testing would be an advantage.
- 3 -5 years of senior laboratory experience in microbiology.
- Flexibility with working hours and tasks
