The Global Markets & Technologies (GM&T) World Business Unit delivers technological solutions (molecules, equipment and services) to support the new markets of energy transition, maritime logistics and scientific exploration, in order to accelerate Air Liquide sustainable growth. To support the energy transition, GM&T brings environmentally friendly solutions to the clean energy market with hydrogen energy and Bio-Natural Gas for vehicles, refrigerated transport using nitrogen, but also the treatment and injection of Biogas into the energy grid as a local power source.
The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will be responsible to control nonconforming products including containment, root cause analysis, preventive and corrective actions, and the validation of these actions for effectiveness. The Manufacturing Quality Engineer shall participate in improvement efforts and programs to standardize processes, reduce process variation, improve manufacturing yields and reduce Customer complaints at the Newport, DE manufacturing plant.

Responsibilities
Quality System Oversight
Monitor the entire production process and perform regular tests to identify potential deviations as early as possible
Prepare reports on deviations and corrective actions (e.g. number of defective raw materials per order)
Manage the Nonconforming Product process
Identify Corrective and Preventive Actions which will prevent the nonconformance from recurring
Assess process control and stability via Statistical Process Control (SPC) analysis
Participate in Customer complaint investigations
Utilize 8D (Eight Disciplines) problem solving methodology to improve supplier quality from ALAS vendors, internal quality from manufacturing operations, and external quality (i.e. Customer satisfaction)
Perform other duties as required to support changing business needs
Set detailed guidelines on what needs to be checked and what the quality standards are
Inspect product materials and electrical systems for defects and durability
Identify the root of technical issues and recommend fixes
Prepare reports on malfunctions and corrective actions (e.g. number of defective raw materials per order)
Work with internal teams to increase customer satisfaction by improving the quality of the products
Continuous Improvement
Utilize the DMAIC process (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control) to drive continuous improvement and sustain it
Perform Root Cause Analysis for process or product quality issues and Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions and validate effectiveness
Map processes and identify key input and output variables, implement and improve control methods
Quality Auditing
Participate in Quality Management System (QMS) Audits and Corrective Actions resulting from these audits
Perform incoming inspection audits, manufacturing process audits, outbound shipment audits
Requirements
BS in Engineering, Material Science, Chemistry, Physics or other relevant technical discipline
3-5 years work experience as a quality professional in manufacturing
Working knowledge of AS9100 Quality Standard, MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Office (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive and Calendar), Statistical Software (Minitab, JMP or equivalent)
Strong technical writing and presentation skills
Demonstrates strong process and operational safety behavior at all times.
Fluent in English, verbal and written
Position requires less than 10% travel
US Citizen or Green Card Holder - The candidate must have valid unrestricted employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
Quality Engineer Certification (CQE)
Working knowledge of Aerospace Quality Standard AS9100 and 8D problem solving methodology
