As a Associate Scientist Microbiology QC, you will be at the forefront of ensuring quality and safety for our patients.
GSK’s Zebulon site is a global supplier of Respiratory and Solid Dose medicines to patients around the globe and the largest GSK Pharmaceutical secondary manufacturing site in North America. The site is located less than 30 minutes from downtown Raleigh, Wendell, Knightdale, Rocky Mount, Wilson, and Wake Forest.

Key Responsibilities:
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
Conduct routine microbiological testing. Testing may include water sampling/filtration, environmental monitoring, raw materials, finished product microbial limit testing and critical utility testing using approved methods and various instrumentation, (e.g., VITEK MS, Microscope, Gram Staining, Autoclave, etc.) while adhering to cGMP and established policy.
Prepare laboratory samples for Microbial analysis.
Manage samples and associated documentation for duration of sample lifecycle, both physically and electronically
Participate in laboratory investigations.
Generate valid data at expected levels of productivity while adhering to cGMP.
Ability to train analyst in the operation of equipment, computer applications, safety procedures.
Ability to use technical expertise and skills to independently solve problems, including method and instrument troubleshooting.
Experience with Laboratory computer systems like LIMS and SAP applications.
Ability to support microbiological and instrument lifecycle, technical transfer and/or validation.
Laboratory upkeep and maintenance (5S, routine equipment/, etc.)

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
B.S, M.S with 1+ years of relevant experience in microbiology, life sciences or related field.
Experience with microbial limit testing/validation and instrumentation used within the lab (SAS, Climet, Pinnochio, VITEK MS)
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
• Basic understanding of cGMPs and compliance.
• Highly motivated team player with a proactive attitude, excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Attention to detail with excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Familiarity with documenting data using laboratory information management systems.
