At TE Connectivity, you’ll help bring our purpose to life by creating a safer, sustainable, productive and connected future. In your role as a R&D Product Development Engineer in the Appliances Business Unit, you will help us make the connections that move the world forward by:
Taking responsibility for supporting the development of new electrical connectors for the home appliances industry.
Collaborating with senior engineers to collect requirements from customers, develop new concepts using 3D & 2D CAD, build prototypes, establish testing and validation plans, and work with operations to build tooling for mass production.
Responsibilities

Support a global multidisciplinary team environment as Product Engineer to design and develop functionally robust and cost-effective products / processes to meet customer and market needs
Support product verification using simulation / prototype testing and final product qualification testing. Where needed, drive failure analysis and implementation of corrective actions
Support continuous improvement initiatives using TEOA / Digital methodologies
Support projects at technical reviews, updates and decision forums
Work with global manufacturing resources, procurement, and outside suppliers to meet all TE technical, quality and cost objectives
Participate in building prototypes and creating and documenting product specifications.
You’re the kind of person we are looking for if you:
Have Received a High School Diploma or GED
Are pursuing a BA/BS or MA/MS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university or have equivalent work history.
Are authorized to work in the U.S.
Have excellent communication & presentation skills (oral & written).
Have knowledge of associated manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, plating and assembly)
Have knowledge of materials, finishes and contact physics related to interconnection design
Have knowledge of wire termination techniques (crimping, soldering, welding etc.)
Have knowledge of rapid prototyping processes for product verification
Are proficient in MS Office suite, Outlook, SAP
Have knowledge of simulation experience is a plus.
Data mining and simple programing capabilities are a plus.
